The revamp features a redesigned façade, a larger concourse, and a brand‑new second entrance designed to ease passenger congestion and improve accessibility.

Key Features of the Redevelopment

The newly constructed second entrance comprises a 650‑square‑metre station building and a 1,500‑square‑metre circulation area, providing an alternate point of entry and exit. Enhancements include a dedicated women’s waiting room, upgraded sanitation facilities, additional drinking‑water stations, tactile paving for visually‑impaired commuters, and a digital passenger information system. Elevators have been installed to aid senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and travelers with luggage.

Impact on Environment and Local Economy

Outside the station, circulation zones and approach roads have been widened, facilitating smoother vehicular flow. A dedicated two‑wheeler parking area improves last‑mile connectivity and reduces traffic bottlenecks around the premises. Vadodara Divisional Railway Manager Raju Bhadke emphasized that the project reflects Indian Railways’ commitment to passenger‑centric, modern infrastructure.
